Institute of Professional Financial Managers (IPFM) was established in 1992 to fill the niche market between the accountancy and treasury professions. It holds permission from the DTI in the UK to use the word 'Institute' in its title. It is listed in the prestigious annual Kogan Page Publication British Qualifications.

The professional designations programs of Member of the International Agency Managers Association (MIAMA) and Registered Financial Adviser (RFA) are recognized by the Institute of Professional Financial Managers in UK for its membership without further studies.

The Institute provides four categories of professional membership including: Technician, Associate, Fellow and Doctorate grades. The membership of the Institutes requires university degrees or professional qualifications at top level, such bodies as ATII, CIB and ICSA.
