American Association for Higher Education & Accreditation (AAHEA) is the oldest non-profit association in the United States dedicated to advancement for higher education. AAHEA began its history in 1870 when National Education Association established a department of higher education. In 1958, the Association was renamed the Association for Higher Education. In 1969, the Association was incorporated a self governing, non-profit organization in the District of Columbia.

The Association is managed by a group of very distinguished individuals including MDs, PhDs, a dean of a very distinguished college, teachers, professors and business leaders, all working in concert to make this great old prestigious organization that millions of people have come to rely upon, even better.

In 2007, the name of the Association was changed to AAHEA, which includes the function of accreditation for higher education. PAMA Institute of Professional Studies is a member of AAHEA.

AAHEA was established to set the standards in this country in the field of education in more than 20 different disciplines and they have been responsible for providing outstanding educational information. AAHEA's specialty is in the area of accreditation, education information and membership to anyone looking to help promote quality higher education. AAHEA's primary function is to assure and strengthen academic quality and ongoing quality improvement in academic courses, programs and degrees.
